Business goal
The goal of this project was to focus on the millenials’ nomadic characteristic of spontaneous social gatherings to increase revenue with the release of the new Megaboom 2.
Our responsibility was to leverage the x-up functionality as the primary experience of the app. Allowing host to add 1 to 100+ speakers.
Target audience were the non-binary millenial population ages 23-38.

My role & design process
As the Principal UXD, I lead the project, mentored a Junior UXD and cross collaborated with all leads. Hardware engineers were also part of the collaboration because a lot of the success on this projects was making sure that alignment was met with compromise between hardware constraints and the software capabilities.
The process of this project consisted of Heuristic evaluations, Competitive Analysis, Solution & iterations, Physical UX & Customer Journey Mapping, Visual Designs, and Usability testing
Deliverables included, but not limited to, User flows, Wireframes, and Visuals
Research
Internal Audit
Evaluation of current app functionalities included.
Competitive Analysis
This app did not have anything like it in the market so various apps where evaluated based on the problems defined towards functionality.
Early concepts
Add Speakers
Add Guest DJs
Final Interaction designs
Update Firmware
To utilize the feature functionality (Party-up) an update of firmware was needed for all different speakers. Initially each speaker had its own app (difficult to maintain), this was a way to begin the process of codifying firmwares so only 1 app was created to be used by all speakers. In addition, this firmware allowed users to have OTA (Over the Air) updates. This meant that updates can be pushed through the app to update the hardware firmware with over the air technology. This meant hey do not ever have to do manual updates that required physical connection to a computer.
Utilities
Refine current functionalities and integrate native app UI standards for iOS.
Party up
Interactive design options for maximum guest speaker capacity and the likely scenerio for majority of the users.
